For leisure cyclists

Along the lake shore

Those who want to experience the landscape at a leisurely pace will find ideal conditions around Forggensee, Hopfensee and Alatsee. The paths are mostly flat, well maintained and particularly suitable for families, couples or e-bike tours.

Intermediate level

Vilser Alm

The bike tour from Füssen to Vilser Alm is particularly popular with mountain bikers. This route starts directly in Füssen and takes you through idyllic forests and gentle climbs to Vilser Alm. Over a distance of almost 30 km and an altitude difference of around 600 metres, you will experience the region at its most beautiful: impressive views of the Alps, rustic forest paths and quiet nature trails. The route is ideal for a half-day tour.

Sporty & challenging

Tour to the Füssen Hut

This demanding tour combines sporting challenges with impressive scenic and historical impressions. The start is moderate, passing Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles and following the historic Fürstenstraße road.

Even here, the region's special location between culture and alpine landscape is evident. From the turn-off into the Tyrolean Raintal valley, the route gains significantly in altitude.

Steady, sometimes steeper climbs demand fitness and endurance. Shortly before reaching the Musauer Alm, the view opens up to reveal the striking north faces of the Tannheim mountains – a panorama that quickly makes you forget the effort of the climb.

The destination of the tour is the Füssener Hütte, which is still owned by the town of Füssen and dates back to the historic property of the Benedictine monastery of St. Mang. After a stop for refreshments, there is a long descent back down into the valley before returning to Füssen via quiet paths and the Ulrichsbrücke bridge.
